Graeme Miller Owner & Winemaker
of Millers Dixons Creek Estate
A Yarra Valley Legend

Graeme Miller is a pioneer of the rebirth of the Yarra Valley as a wine region, having established Chateau Yarrinya in 1971. After winning a bevy of major wine awards including the 1978 Jimmy Watson Trophy, the first Victorian winery to win this coveted award, Graeme began drawing much attention to the Yarra Valley as a winemaking region. As a result, the DeBortoli family purchased Yarrinya in 1985 where they are still located.

Following the sale, Graeme selected another 136-acre premium site nearby. The property has 70 acres under vine including varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Nestled in the northwest end of the Yarra Valley along the Melba Highway, Millers Dixons Creek Estate enjoys a perfect undulating environment that produces premium cool climate wines with the winery and cellar door appearing to float on top of the hill.

Armed with an impressive portfolio of cool climate winemaking experience, both here and overseas, Graeme’s son Daniel Miller has joined his father in the business. Daniel worked alongside French winemaker Gregoire Besson in 2013, which has enhanced the practices in their vineyard and winery reflecting the care they take in preserving their estate and striving for excellence in their wines.

The onsite winery and Cellar Door was built in 2004 and commands spectacular views of the valley, where visitors can taste the wines overlooking the working winery below, as well as hearing some fabulous stories from Graeme and Daniel. Be sure to ask them all about the fine display of Aboriginal Art from the Central and Western deserts and Arnhemland.

Millers Dixons Creek Estate has been a member of Yarra Valley Smaller Wineries since 2007 and loves being part of a like-minded family of boutique wineries with a community spirit.

Finally, you simply must come and meet Dustin Hoffman…
“Dusty” is the Miller’s German Short Haired Pointer and he will smother you in love – you simply won’t want to leave.
